Artist's Social for Don Englemeyer:
The Artist Social for Amy Spencer-Reesor this past Friday was a hit as friends, family and members of the arts community from the surrounding counties gathered together to enjoy the ceramics, drawings, jewelry, and paintings that have been a part of Amy's growing collection for years. Amy would like to send out a thank you to all who could attend and hopes that those who couldn't make it that night will stop by in the following weeks to get a glimpse of her art before it disappears for another year. Her jewelry will continue on display and be for sale though the coming months so stop by and see what tickles your fancy.
Our next Artist Social will be held July 9th with the captivating work of Don Englemeyer. Don has been collecting glass for years but about 9 years ago he decided to start doing something about his interests by taking glass-blowing classes at 'Third Degrees Glass Factory' in Saint Louis and fusing classes in University City and even traveled to Las Vegas for classes and conventions.
Inspired by sculpture, photography, music, painting, metalworking, ceramics and architecture; Don found his calling in glass, the unique material that light can pass though, can color light and even bend light. Glass is unique in that it doesn't rust, corrode, rot, or deteriorate, shrink or expand; it can be thin, thick, heavy or lightweight.
Don likes to bond with others that feel a need to create, to assemble, manipulate, compile and display their mental concepts, so join us on Friday July 9th to inspire and be inspired by the work of Don Englemeyer. Come join us for a night of light and glass at Don Englemeyers Artist Social held from 6-8pm at the Raintree Art Gallery and Education Center at 501 Main St. in Troy and complimentary refreshments, beverages and wine will be provided.
